Lee Yoonjae, son of Lee Jongil, a former Army Chief of Staff, current member of the National Assembly, and a strong contender for the upcoming presidential election, finds himself trapped after a single sentence spoken by a shaman’s successor during a visit to his father’s usual shaman’s house in the autumn of his eighteenth year.
The place is Ryu Gwan Temple, the home of the shaman Ryu Gwan, located on Seonrak Mountain. This centuries-old ancestral estate is protected by a powerful deity that resides only within Ryu Gwan’s bloodline. Baek Youngso, Ryu Gwan’s great-grandson and sole successor, warns that Yoonjae possesses a pure soul so coveted by spirits that he is doomed to die young unless divine intervention is used to shield him.
With no other option, Yoonjae stays at Ryu Gwan Temple for a week, and from that reluctant stay, the two begin to slowly build a bond. However, everything changes when Ryu Gwan’s health takes a sudden turn for the worse…
